PostPublic Service Commissions, both at the Union and at the State level, are amongst the most important Public Institutions with long traditions which have served well. The establishment of this Institution had its origin in the history of Indian nationalism and the persistent demand of the leaders of freedom movement for progressive Indianisation of the Civil Service under British Raj. The Montagu-Chelmsford Report accepted in principle the demand for Indianisation of the higher civil services and accordingly a provision for this was made in the Government of India Act, 1919. The Royal Commission of the Superior Civil Service in India under the Chairmanship of Lord Lee, in its 1924 Report, recommended setting up of Public Service Commission of India. The Public Service Commission of India was set up on 1st October, 1926 under the Chairmanship of Sir Ross Barker.

Haryana Public Service Commission Group-B Recruitment 2025 Overview

The Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) has released the official notification Advt. No. 19/2025 for Group-B posts including Assistant Engineer (Mechanical) and Sub Divisional Engineer (Civil). This is a great opportunity for engineering graduates to secure a prestigious government job in Haryana.

The Commission invites online applications from eligible candidates for Group-B posts of
(i) Assistant Engineer (Civil) in Public Works (B&R) Department Haryana

(ii) Municipal Engineer (Civil) in Municipal Corporation, Urban Local Bodies Department Haryana 

(iii)Sub Divisional Engineer (Civil) Panchayati Raj in Development and Panchayats Department Haryana.

Important Dates

Education Qualification

  (i) AE (Civil) in Public Works (B&R) Department:  

Regular degree of civil engineering. Candidate who obtained degree through part time, evening classes, distance education mode and university notapproved by            AICTE are not eligible for recruitment.

  (ii) Municipal Engineer (Civil) in Municipal Corporation, Urban Local Bodies Department: 

       (a) Degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent from any recognized university/lnstitution.

       (b) Knowledge of Hindi/Sanskrit upto matric or Higher Education.

(iii) Sub Divisional Engineer (civil) Panchayati Raj in development and Panchayats Department

 (a) Degree in Civil Engineering form recognized university/ lnstitution.

  (b) Hindi or Sanskrit upto matric standard or in Higher Education.

Age Limit

• Minimum: 18 years

• Maximum: 42 years (as per category relaxation in Haryana Govt. rules).
