Senior politicians and teachers bodies in Haryana have raised questions on the government’s Cheerag scheme, which was recently launched to offer “free education” to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) students of government schools in “budget” private schools.

 Department of School Education, Haryana has released a notification to Admission in Class 3rd to 12th under Haryana Cheerag Scheme in Private Schools. Eligibility

• The students which have passed their previous class in any Govt. School from Haryana are Eligible for this scheme
• The Admission will be made for 3rd to 12th Class
• A student can apply for the school of the same block in which he/she is studying
• His/Her family income should not be greater than 1.80 Lakh Per Annum
• A student can apply for more than one block
